04:55 pm - Scarby Questions

Now that I've learned that one of my FAVORITE groups, The Corsairs, are retiring, I'm determined to make it to Scarby to catch some of their last shows ... and to get some HUGS. I need some Scarby guidance please. Since I have not been there in YEARS and my memory is failing, could anyone please provide with the following info (or direct someone to this post who can):

Which airport do I want to fly into?

Which hotels do you recommend? While price is a concern, keep in mind I'm a princess and like my hotels to have a star rating higher than Motel 6.

Will anyone I know be there May 24/25/26?

Thank you in advance.

(You won't believe what they said ... | You have something to say?)

You can fly into either Love Field (Southwest) or DFW International. Love Field is closer (DAL). DFW has more facilities/car rental, etc.

It is still a haul to Waxahachie. Almost an hour, depending on traffic, from DFW, about 45 minutes or so from Love Field.

I recommend the Best Western Gingerbread Inn on I35 in Waxahachie. But book now, they usually fill up for Memorial Day Weekend.

Gerry and I will be there the last two weekends - depending on weather, of course.
(Sat) May 17 & (Sat-Monday) May 24-26 are potential days for us.
We are going to try to get to the Trader's Village flea market this coming Sunday.
My understanding is that Scarby is not open the end of May/beginning of June. Memorial Day Monday is their closing day (May 26).

We are flying into DFW tomorrow and staying at the Hampton Inn in Waxahachie. It looks very nice on the website (looks like it's modern & updated). It's pretty close to faire.

Will be nice to see you there!
Sad to hear the Corsairs are retiring. :-(

We have been to the Hampton Inn - and it is lovely.
Well appointed and the staff is great.
I can highly recommend this hotel.
